Children of Uganda!

Hello mikwano!!!!

So I am here at the PC office in Kampala for a short visit, and have a few minutes to blog. Many exciting things have been hapening in Uganda, first and formost being that I have found out where I will be spending the next 2 years of my life! My assignment is with the Children of Uganda, an organization which supports an orphanage and school for 350 orphans! From what I have found out, I will be living with the orphans, in the oprhanage. Hopefuly my life won't be to 'hard knock.' (haha) They recieve their fundig through their childrens choir which tours America ever 2 years. I will be able to do a lot of work with the choir, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to tour with them, PC rule are pretty strict on amount of time spend out of country. We all head out to our Future Sights this Wednesday for a short visit to get a better feel for what our working and living conditions will be like. So far, I think that this assignment couldn't be better, infact I think it is perfect. I am having to sign off now, I am trying to upload some random pictures, hope youlike them!

Lots of love
Sarah

It makes my day every time you are able to update:) And I have been trying to call you, but it won't go through:( Sorry, I am not as good at the whole snail mail thing....yet, but I am working on it just for you:) I have so much to tell you and I know you have even more! It'll be great to see you "in action" next year when Rick and I come visit. Pehaps, I could rap for teh children.....better not:) I am off to lab, but know that I miss you and love you a lot! You are always in my prayers along with the other PCTs and PCVs and all the people you are serving.

Do you know the name of the place where you will be - like the city or town name and what section of the country? Always enjoy reading your blogs. It still amazes me that a person can be so far away yet keep in touch so quickly. I know the availability is so much less there, yet so much more than just a few years ago.

Take care - sounds like a good assignment.

I'm glad you like your assignment. I bet all the kids love you and that you get to play lots of games with them. Let us know your new mailing address as soon as you find out, so we can all keep sending you letters. Sorry I've been taking a little break, but you should get another one in a couple of weeks (I sent it today). Oh, and what's all this about Becca and Rick visiting? Where's my name in that list? Have I been kicked off the team? I think I'll have to have a talk with Becca...

Sarah,
That's so wonderful about the children's choir! That will be a blast I'm sure. You are going to do such wonderful things there and make such a huge impact in the lives of so many! Nebraska is as wonderful as always, we are in the midst of homecoming so things are all a buzz around here. You are in my prayers!

God Bless,

Hi Sarah,
Dan and I just read your blog for the first time. It's great. We were so inspired that Dan created our own blog. I just sure that you think we are the coolest or maybe the lamest. Anyway things are good at home. Tommy made showtime band and Nettie is almost done with her first season on highschool swimming. Your mom and I have been making the rounds to the fall craft fairs. Dan and your dad went fishing up at my folks several weekends ago. My parents just loved having them visit. I am glad you got the assignment that you wanted. It is not uncomman for orphans to have medical conditions or disabilities. If I can help you figure any of them out just let me know. Take care, thoughts and prayers
